Respiratory Society of Kenya (ReSok) is a professional, non-profit, reference organization whose mission is to improve lung health in Kenya and beyond, through partnership, advocacy, research, innovation, education, training and technical support. A membership organization (just like the IUATLD) with leadership provided by chest medicine specialists (functions as the Kenya Thoracic Society).

KAPT was formed and registered under the societies act in 1956 as the local chapter of the International Union Against Tuberculosis (IUAT/KAPT). In 1997 both IUAT and KAPT changed their names to incorporate Lung Disease (LD) and thus IUATLD/ReSok.
ReSok’s other areas of interest and engagement include: Tuberculosis, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Community Acquired Respiratory Infections, in both children and adults, including Viral pneumonia (Influenza, SARS), Occupational lung disease and Environmental health (Climate change and lung health, Air pollution, and lung health) and Tobacco Control.
